Retirement Income Planning
The resident academic and mathematician at O’Dell, Winkfield, Roseman & Shipp, Jeremy Shipp brings over 15 years of mathematical validation, verification, and logic to the sound financial and retirement strategies that we offer our clients. There is not one financial strategy or concept we use that we cannot verify and back up mathematically, thanks to him. A strategic and creative thinker, Jeremy applies advanced analytics to our clients’ portfolios to determine the best course of action to achieve their outlined objectives.
Beginning a career in finance as a personal banker with U.S. Bancorp, Jeremy quickly ascended through the ranks but sought a more well-rounded financial approach than what banking could provide. He left banking for independent advising, focusing on estate planning, where he discovered that most of his clients were ill-prepared for retirement, often running out of money or forced to drastically reduce their lifestyles. As such, Jeremy committed his career to retirement planning and designing financial strategies that maximize our clients’ lifetime wealth potential.
Jeremy grew up in Ohio, is the older of two brothers, and received a degree in Mathematics from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. When he’s not working he likes to spend time with his dog, Miss Hattie, golf, travel, and watch Buckeye football.
He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations. These professional designations are earned after completing rigorous course work and testing that show a deep understanding and command of the principles essential to implementing a solid retirement plan.
Jeremy is a proud member of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA®) and The National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA®). He is a master mentor and sits on the advisory council for MoneyTrax, a wealth planning organization that has been nationally recognized for its unique financial planning approach and advanced training. Jeremy also belongs to the Independent Excellence Group, a think tank of financial professionals from across the country.
He has spent a good portion of his career working with families of wartime veterans and their surviving spouses to obtain a much deserved Aid & Attendance benefit from the Department of Veterans Affairs to help pay for assisted living and nursing home costs. Jeremy has been featured in Forbes Magazine for his efforts.
